Our Story
Daniel and Tobias started Football Fans Asia back in 2016, dedicated to promoting Asian football through short video documentaries.
What began as two friends meeting at a football match in Chonburi, Thailand, soon evolved into a mission to capture the unique spirit of football fan cultures across Asia. While most of the world focused on European football, they set out to showcase the passionate and vibrant scenes thriving throughout the continent.
Over the years of traveling and filming, one thing kept coming up: it was always difficult to find out when and where teams were playing, what the local football culture was like, or how to connect with other fans. Once they figured it out, though, they consistently met incredible people, experienced unforgettable atmospheres, and built lasting friendships.
To solve this recurring problem and help fellow fans, the idea for GOTIFO was born — an app designed to make it easier to discover matches, connect with local supporters, and experience the rich diversity of football fan cultures around the world.
The Name & Logo
GOTIFO is made up of two words: go and tifo. Tifo is the Italian-rooted word for the choreographed displays, chants, and visual spectacles created by supporter groups in stadiums around the world. The name means exactly what it says: go where the fan culture is. Go to the stadium.
The logo is the letter G shaped as a stadium seen from above. The gold corner at the top right represents the away fans section — a nod to the traveling supporters who bring their colours and passion to every ground they visit.
Our Vision
GOTIFO aims to grow into a social enterprise that connects digital innovation with real community work.
We want to help football become a driver for cultural exchange, education, and inclusion — supporting local projects, youth initiatives, and creative fan communities around the world.
The long-term goal is a global network where football fans can not only discover matches, but also collaborate, learn, and create positive impact together.
